About

Everything that brought me to this work—my lived experience, education, and career—are all woven together. Growing up queer and bisexual+ in Northern Ontario, I came to understand early how much the environments we're in shape what we're able to do and who we become. That understanding is the foundation of the work I do and the lens through which I see the world, and every organization with whom I work.

My professional and academic paths have always been intertwined. I hold a B.A. and M.A. in Gender Equality and Social Justice and Religions and Cultures, and I'm currently completing a PhD in Adult Education specializing in Workplace Learning and Social Change at the University of Toronto. My dissertation research examines how identity, power, and visibility intersect in professional workplaces and what that means for who gets to lead, and how. My research is deeply personal, and it reflects the same questions I bring to my consulting work: how can organizations create conditions where people don't have to choose between authenticity and belonging.

Those questions followed me into my more than decade-long tenure at McCarthy Tétrault LLP, where I played a pivotal role in shaping and advancing Inclusion Now, the first comprehensive IDEA strategy in the Canadian legal profession. It was named Diversity Initiative of the Year in 2020 and 2021 for embedding IDEA into hiring, promotion, culture, and accountability structures firm-wide, and delivered measurable results in representation, engagement, and belonging.

In 2023, I was honoured with a Catalyst Canada Honours award for my impact on equity and inclusion in the legal profession and beyond, and selected as a CivicAction DiverseCity Fellow, a recognition that reinforced what I already believed: that this work, done well, has reach far beyond any single organization.

I launched my consulting practice because I wanted to bring that same rigour, depth, and commitment to more organizations across sectors, at different stages of their IDEA journey. Whether I'm conducting an assessment, building a strategy, redesigning people practices, or advising a leadership team, I bring the same approach: evidence-based, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that inclusion isn't a program. It's a practice and it has to be built into the way an organization leads, decides, and grows.

When I'm not working, you'll find me at my cabin with my dog and my family, watching the sun set over the water, losing track of time under a sky full of stars, lost in a book, covered in clay in the pottery studio, or checking out live music. Those moments of stillness and joy remind me why this work matters; because everyone deserves spaces where they can fully exhale and show up as themselves.

This work is personal to me. It always has been. But what drives me most is knowing it's personal for others too and that done well, this work changes what's possible for people in real and lasting ways.
